This watch is a very early example of the Sympathie case watches with the desirable series one shaped crystal matching the profile of the bezel.  The series two and subsequent models all have round crystals, instead of the unique shape that is undoubtedly the draw of this original design.  These early watches were only offered in annual production of 28 pieces per color combination, making this example unlikely to be seen elsewhere. Mr. Dubuis became famous for working in Patek Philippe's complication department where many of the worlds' most complex timepieces were produced.  After leaving Patek and setting up his own atelier he produced some of the most contemporary and classically designed watches the world had seen, the Sympathie model being the epitome of this.  Roger Dubuis recently passed away and we expect his earliest production watches to gain in value and collectability due to their rarity and innovative design.  His watches all feature the Poinçon de Genève, Geneva seal/quality hallmark, attesting to the highest standards of hand finished and decorated watches produced entirely in the Canton of Geneva.  The only manufacture to be able to make this claim.
